COINCIDING with the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens, Linda Marlowe presents an engaging celebration of one of his most enduringly popular novels at the Old Town Hall in Hemel Hempstead on Friday.
Written and directed by Di Sherlock Miss Haversham’s Expectations features the iconic female character from the celebrated Great Expectations.
This jilted bride who is stuck forever in her wedding dress alongside the stopped clock and untouched cake is desperate to set the record straight.
She tells her story and by doing so reveals a love-hate relationship with her creator Dickens.
The show draws on the text of Great Expectations and biographical material from Dickens’ life, as well as original material by writer-director Di Sherlock.
It’s presented in a tour-de-force performance by the award-winning actor and director Linda Marlowe and brings fresh insight to one of Dickens’ best-loved novels.
Seabright Productions and LMP present Miss Haversham’s Expectations at the Old Town Hall Theatre, Hemel Hempstead on Friday, September 28 at 8pm.
