National award nomination for Frogmore Mill

Frogmore Paper Mill has been nominated for a prestigious award celebrating the museums which most enthrall children.

The heritage attraction in Apsley – the site of the world’s oldest mechanised paper mill – made the longlist for the Telegraph’s Family Friendly Museums Award after being nominated unexpectedly by an anonymous visitor.

Frogmore’s education manager Sue Woolnough said: “It was delightful to hear that someone had nominated us because it is a national award and one that would benefit our credibility and publicity, and also increase our number of visitors.”

Sue and the Paper Trail, the charity which runs the mill, have now submitted a document supporting their nomination, complete with pictures and visitor testimonials. The shortlist will be announced at a later date.
