FILM tickets have sold out faster than ever before Berkhamsted’s Rex cinema.
All tickets for February evening films were gone by Thursday, January 26.
Tickets for the month’s afternoon matinees were sold out by Wednesday, February 15.
James Hannaway, The Rex’s chief executive, said: “For the first time in the seven years we’ve been here, all the evening shows this month were sold by a week before they opened.
“Head along and feel the buzz and the atmosphere. It’s so quiet before a film begins that you could hear a pin drop.
“The place really sells itself.”
The cinema’s February hits included Sunday’s Oscar-winners The Artist and Hugo, which both won five awards, as well as The Iron Lady.
All three award-winners are being shown at The Rex in March, too.
The Descendants, The Help and Midnight in Paris, which won one Oscar each, will also be shown there in the next few weeks.
