You’d think Tring would be all chuckled out after the roaring success of the Tringe, but Get Stuffed guru Ben Moorhouse has organised yet more laughs in the shape of two very different comedians.

Simon Brodkin is rocking up with his chav-tastic character Lee Nelson, while godfather of alternative comedy Alexei Sayle is back on the road after TV, novels, radio and appearances on Question Time.

Simon plays his council estate geezer Lee with convincing flair in a pitch-perfect character performance complete with slang, stereotypes and a complete obliviousness to his own antisocial attitudes.

Alexei is more old school – and although he may look like a twinkly Father Christmas these days, be prepared for a world view ripe with cynicism and acute political awareness when he makes his first appearance at Pendley’s Court Theatre.

The styles of the two stars are worlds apart, so organiser Ben Moorhouse decided to ticket the two gigs separately – but currently the combined option is selling rather well.

Ben said: “Alexei is a punk-style comedian from way back – he’s on fire. I always thought he was slightly untouchable, so to be able to book him is absolutely extraordinary.”

Ben was contacted by Lee’s agent, who said that he needed to have one last set before heading north to the bright lights of Edinburgh. Ben said: “I couldn’t really say no to that!”

The fun starts on Saturday, at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.get-stuffed.biz.
