THE Tring Choral Society will perform two pieces by Marc-Antoine Charpentier – Messe de Minuit and Te Deum, and CPE Bach’s Magnificat at their concert on Saturday.
Accompanied by the Chiltern Orchestral Society and conducted by Colin Stevens, this concert was planned for Christmas but postponed because of the snow.
The society’s first recorded concert took place in 1894 and today it has over 80 members. It holds three concerts a year, performing a combination of the great choral works, together with some lighter pieces and a triennial Christmas concert, often with singers from local schools.
They need more male singers and are particularly keen to attract youngsters. Alas membership is currently closed to women.
The concert will take place at the church of St Peter and St Paul, Tring on Saturday, January 29 2011, 7.30pm.
Call 01442 824784 for tickets or drop in at the Iain Rennie Hospice Shop in Tring.
Tickets for the postponed concert are valid for this performance.
