SQUEEZE yourself back into your ‘70s and ‘80s garb, or if you’re not as old as me make your way to the local fancy dress shop and pick up something retro, then hotfoot it down to the Court Theatre in Tring next Saturday and prepare to dance all night, writes Nicola Curtis.

Local bands Funk Runners and Old Country Union are already tuning up ready to launch your festive season with a proper bang.

Funk Runners have been together for the past four years playing covers from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Huey Lewis, Queen and Michael Jackson.

The band includes Adam Buckle on guitar, Paul Carlisle and Zoe Curran on vocals, Sam Evans on drums, Andy Lewis on bass, Alex Richards on keyboard, Emlyn Jones on sax and Euan Tees on trumpet.

Bassist Andy plays with Paul Weller and the Bluetones, Adam and Paul gig together with local band The Measures and Sam plays for another local band The Choirboys.

Old Country Union got together in 2007 and are well-known for their good time, classic, acoustic rock.

The Court Theatre’s Christmas Bash will be held at the Court Theatre in Tring on Saturday, December 17 from 7pm.
