Jazz great holds birthday concert party

THE founder of Berkhamsted Jazz Mike Garrick will bring together his favourite accomplices for a double birthday celebration concert next Saturday.

It’s many happy returns of the day to Mike on May 30, while trumpeter son Gabriel gets another year older on June 6.

Joining the veteran pianist, composer and teacher and his son will be vocalist Nette Robinson, who is also a fine portrait and abstract artist and belly dance teacher, guitarist Dominic Ashworth who studied at Toronto University before coming to the UK and initially working as a roofer, 2005 graduate of Trinity College of Music Matt Ridley on bass, and London College of Music and Media graduate Chris Nickolls on drums.
