Swashbuckling fun as Pirates of Penzance come alongside

Harpenden Light Opera Society is extending this year’s Jubilee celebrations into October by setting their next terribly British production in the present day.

The Broadway version of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic operetta The Pirates of Penzance by Joseph Papp has a brilliantly fresh approach and has won rapturous approval all round the world for its humorous plot and excellent musical score.

For those unfamiliar with the popular G&S show, the Pirates of Penzance are a rather tender hearted bunch made up exclusively of orphans and unable to harm anyone from a similar background.

During the production there will be quite a bit of harmless swashbuckling, plenty of lovely tunes, and an awful lot of fun.

Book now if you don’t want to miss out.

HLOS presents The Pirates of Penzance at Harpenden Public Halls, Harpenden from Monday, October 8 to Saturday, October 13, 7.45pm with an additional Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
