Nigel Ogden, the renowned presenter of Radio 2’s long-running keyboard showcase The Organist Entertains, is heading to St Albans for a Saturday afternoon performance.
He will be playing the mighty Wurlitzer at St. Albans Organ Theatre in Camp Road at 2.30pm on Saturday, March 8.
Nigel is acknowledged as one of Britain’s most accomplished and versatile organists and his considerable catalogue of recordings includes a CD featuring four of the theatre’s collection of instruments.
Adult tickets at £10 (children 11 and under, £5) are available in advance on 03003 65 65 65.
The Organ Theatre’s instruments, most of which are demonstrated from 2pm to 4.30pm between March and November on the second Sunday of each month, were the private collection of Charles Hart who, in 1978, directed the formation of a Charitable Trust to administer and maintain the collection and make it permanently available to the public.
