The sun shone on Boxmoor Primary School’s summer fair on Saturday, which raised funds towards the school’s new learning bus.
Mayor of Dacorum Penny Hearn was there and parents, teachers and pupils enjoyed sponge pelting, motorbike demonstrations and a mixture of games and stalls.
The Boxmoor learning bus is an outside classroom housed in a bright red double decker, which will eventually contain a library and science area where the children can learn in an exciting environment.
An estimated £20,000 is needed to complete the project, but the school had already raised just over half of that amount before the weekend.
Parent and teacher association member Estelle Lloyd said: “The fair was a great success. There was a lovely atmosphere and all the stalls went down really well. At the moment the learning bus is just a shell, but we hope to have it completed somewhere between September and the end of the year. Meanwhile, the fundraising will be ongoing.”
