Apsley train fatality

A MAN has been hit by a train at Apsley rail station.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the scene at 3.49pm today (Wednesday) where the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train involved was the 1.55pm service travelling for Manchester to Euston.

A BTP spokesman said: “Officers are currently on scene working to establish the man’s identity and inform his next of kin.

“The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
