A brand new health facility for Hertfordshire will be designed by a leading architect’s firm.

Earlier this year Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) unveiled its plans to develop a new state of the art health facility at The Stewarts, located in the grounds of Harpenden Memorial Hospital. It will see a major redevelopment of the buildings, providing a range of clinical and therapy rooms for children and adults health services.

Essex-based firm Ingleton Wood LLP has been appointed following a competitive tender process. The firm has extensive experience working on both new build and refurbishment projects in the public sector, with previous clients including Southend University Hospital, South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Bedford Hospital, Camden Primary Care Trust and Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust.

David Law, Chief Executive of HCT, said: “Our communities deserve the best level of twenty-first century healthcare, provided in modern, clean and safe environments. The appointment of Ingleton Wood builds on our pledge to make this a reality for our patients in Harpenden.

“As a community NHS Trust we are committed to ensuring we support local people, not just when they need health interventions, but to help them stay healthy and lead happy lives regardless of their age.”
