Highly acclaimed local artist Sunil Pawar is teaming up with HERE café of Lower Kings Road Berkhamsted for a week long pop-up exhibition of his exciting works.
Sunil is an exhibiting artist as well as a freelance illustrator/creative, with commissions ranging from pirate radio stations to international fashion houses. Notable fans of his work include US rapper Kanye West, singer Kelis and legendary Japanese fashion designer Junya Watanabe. In the late 80s, at the age of 15, Sunil skipped school one afternoon and walked into the North London offices of music legends, Soul II Soul with a bag full of paintings, he sold everyone of them!
Since opening in the summer of 2013, HERE has championed local producers, musicians, charities and working groups, and more recently artists. Artistic director Denise Purdy has created a wonderful gallery space on the first floor of the cafe which displays an eclectic mix of work, all for sale. Each exhibition lasts for approximately 3 months with an opportunity to meet the current artists over a cup of tea and slice of chef José’s delicious cake! Denise was delighted when Sunil agreed to showcase his works for a week running from tomorrow (Saturday) to Friday November 28. To coincide with the show, HERE is running a competition to win a signed and framed artwork by Sunil, specially commissioned for the café.
