Arts and crafts traders coming to town

A NEW market on its way to Tring hopes to be the first of its kind to do business in the town.

Claire Patterson, who already runs Berkhamsted Artisans, Arts and Crafts Market will be opening stalls in Tring next month.

The market director said: “It will be the first time such a market has opened up in Tring and we hope it will have the longevity of Berkhamsted and the same level of success.

“However, to get our foot off the ground we really need to encourage local people to support us and to get local artists involved.”

The market opens in Victoria Hall at Akeman Street in Tring on February 26 and will not run in March, but it will resume in April.

It will be spread over two rooms and floors and will be open on the last Saturday of every month.

Berkhamsted Market runs on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month.

Mrs Patterson said: “By becoming a regular at our market, you can do very well over time once people get to know you and your product. I encourage artisans and crafts of high quality to appeal to the people of Tring and ultimately to get a reputation as a superb place to come and browse.

“I am happy to entertain as wide a variety of stalls as possible. I am also looking to have the friendliest stall holders around.”
