BBC broadcaster will share a tale of wartime heroism in Berkhamsted

A BBC Radio 4 presenter will pay a visit to a literary salon in Berkhamsted next week.

Edward Stourton– an accomplished broadcaster, journalist and writer – will be at the Greene Room in the Kings Arms on Thursday, March 27, to discuss his new book Cruel Crossing: Escaping Hitler Across the Pyrenees.

His latest work – hailed a ‘moving retelling’ by the Daily Telegraph – details the emotional story of those who travelled through the Pyrenees to escape occupied France during the Second World War. The moving historical account includes interviews with remaining survivors and their families.
