Around ten town stores celebrated the 125th anniversary of the founding of Berkhamsted Girls’ School by entering a shop window display competition.
The Cancer Research UK charity shop on High Street was judged the winner after all the creations, decked in the blue, white and red of the school’s uniform, were displayed for a week.
The hotly-contested top spot was chosen by art teacher Louise Gent and local author, historian and art technician at Berkhamsted School, Mary Murray.
The Florist, Zebra, Shootme Studios, Boltons, Shu Shu, David Paul Opticians, Walton Clothing and the British Red Cross also took part in the competition.
The school’s head teacher Ashley Clancy said: “I enjoyed walking around Berkhamsted spotting the displays. It’s wonderful that the community pulled together to help us celebrate.”
