Four fire crews battled to bring a home blaze under control as flames spread from the garage through the ground floor and into the roof.
The fire started around 5pm yesterday at the home in Kilncroft, Leverstock Green, and fire crews were quickly on the scene.
They used several pumps and an aerial ladder to tackle the blaze which was spreading quickly and Herts Fire tweeted to say ‘avoid the area’.
No one was injured but fire crews carried out regular checks of the home all night to make sure the fire was out. A final check was carried out at 6.30am today.
There is no indication what caused the fire but it is believed to have started in the garage.
