Dacorum Borough Council has been working hard over the last two months to provide a diverse range of support and advice for the local business community.

This support will be delivered through the Maylands Business Centre and will be completely free of charge.

As reported following the coalition government, Business Link, the current nationwide business support function, will be ceasing to offer face to face support towards the end of the year, and their current full service will be replaced by a website and call centre.

On realising this is not enough to support start-up, new and existing business in the area, Dacorum Borough Council has engaged with a number of local organisations, most of which are private sector commercial communities, and through this support a new business support partnership has been formed.

Local businesses will now be able to benefit from advice covering the following areas – start-up, finance, bookkeeping, accountancy, legal, import and export, sales and marketing, insolvency, restructure, employment and human resources, insurance and risk assessments and much more.

The organisations committed to the business advice service so far include – Job Centre Plus, The Business Advice Line, Cobham Consulting, Hemel Hempstead Churches Together, Rosemary Books, Lorica Insurance, Accountacy Online, Michael Macartney Management Services, Business Link East and new companies are looking to join the partnerships all the time.
