This year’s mayor, Councillor Gillian Chapman has recently been out and about meeting local businesses.

Since the beginning of September, the mayor has taken three full days out of her diary to visit Henkel, Keystone, NGK Sparkplugs, Yazaki, Dixons Retail, the Royal Mail site all on Maylands, as well as the business located at the new Maylands Business Centre, and other companies located in Hemel Hempsted, Berkhamsted and Tring including Tring Brewery, The Rex, The Gatsby, Daisy Chain Jewellers, Storax, Smiths Coffee and the Snow Centre. There is also another day of visits planned for January 24.

The aim of the visits have been to find out how Dacorum Borough Council and the local business community can work better together, and to aim to address any immediate issues the companies may be having. It has been very important that the mayor visit a diverse arrange of business for various sectors and of all shapes and sizes.

The outcomes and feedback from both the mayor and the businesses has been very positive and it is hoped that the future meetings continue to be as mutually beneficial as those that have already taken place.
