A cheeky monkeys tea party for parents and their children has raised more than £600 for charity.
The event at Woodhall Farm Community Centre, Hemel Hempstead, was run by the town and district’s branch of the National Childbirth Trust, and more than 70 people attended.
Upmarket baby supplies retailer JoJo Maman Bebe, which has recently opened a new branch in Berkhamsted, sponsored the tea party and 10 Dacorum businesses also showcased their goods and services.
All proceeds raised will go towards supporting the NCT’s work, including running support groups for new parents.
Volunteer Kimberley Evans said: “The party couldn’t have happened without the team of volunteers including Elle Laird and branch chairman Victoria Abrahams.
“We were delighted with its success, it was great to see the community come together on a lovely summer’s afternoon.”
The next event in the charity’s calendar is a nearly new sale on Saturday, November 9. If you’d like to volunteer, email email@example.com.
The branch has also been awarded funding from the Big Lottery Awards For All to train more mothers to support others with breastfeeding. If you’d like to become a breastfeeding peer supporter, email your interest to Ruth at firstname.lastname@example.org.
