BEER connoisseurs will raise their glasses to 40 years of pushing for high quality brands.
The Mid Chilterns branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) will celebrate the organisation’s birthday at the Kings Arms pub in Tring next Wednesday (March 16).
Chairman Dave Badminton said: “We try to keep a check on the beer in all our pubs and how well they are doing, which is becoming more difficult with the way pubs are changing hands.
“We are part of the national ‘LocALE’ scheme that encourages pubs to get their beer from local breweries.”
The branch was set up in 1972 and one of its first chairmen, Tim Amsden, a Tring resident, went on to become national chairman.
There are nearly 550 members over the 220-pub area of Herts and Bucks. Find out more at www.midchilternscamra.org.uk
