FALL: A man suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to a specialist trauma centre after he fell from a roof in Potten End on Wednesday.

It is believed the man was working in Water End Road when he was taken unwell and fell from the roof and onto scaffolding.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene at 2.56pm and the Essex Air Ambulance was called because of the nature of the man’s injuries.

Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “Paramedics and the critical care team from the helicopter were able to treat, stabilise and immobilise him before he was flown direct to St Mary’s Hospital in London.”
