A weekend community litter pick helped give Adeyfield a welcome spring clean.
Street Champion volunteers recruited by Dacorum Borough Council turned out for the litter blitz on Saturday morning.
A total of 15 people got their hands dirty for the job, which included collecting litter and identifying flytipping and other eyesore hotspots that need council attention.
The clean up job focussed on Reith Fields and behind the shops in Queen’s Square.
Together the team collected 16 sacks of litter in just 90 mucky minutes.
The Jubilee pub provided the volunteers with tea and biscuits after their job was done.
Street Champions have been running for a year in the Adeyfield area of Hemel Hempstead. The action group is made up of householders and councillors who have been working to improve the area by reporting faults, looking after the environment and encouraging neighbours to get more involved in community events and activities.
