Controversial homes plan is back on the agenda for town

A DEVELOPER has resubmitted a proposal to build homes on a controversial site after the original plan was turned down by the planning inspectorate.

Applicant Black Lab Developments had last year applied to construct six new homes and 14 extra car parking spaces on the grounds of The Grey House in Kitsbury Road, Berkhamsted.

Berkhamsted Town Council objected to the plans after scores of neighbours of the site went to its meeting to protest about them.

Then Dacorum Borough Council rejected the plans against the advice of its officers. The planning inspector rejected the developer’s appeal against this decision.

Now Black Lab Developments have resubmitted the plans on a scaled down basis with just five homes proposed for the site.

The town council objected to the new plans at a meeting on Monday, December 5, saying they would overdevelop the site.
