AN INVESTIGATION is ongoing into how people were missed out on the distribution of bin calendars.
The bungle caused anger over the Easter bank holiday when contractors had to repeat the entire borough-wide round, which includes 61,000 households, to issue leaflets detailing the changes.
Dacorum Borough Council has withheld the £4,148 per round payment from its contractors, which charge £68 per thousand households it delivers to.
Craig Thorpe, the council’s group manager of Environmental Services, said: “We are currently collating all the information on reports of non-delivery and have arranged a meeting with the distribution company in mid-June.
“The problem has been resolved in so far that we have now delivered a calendar to all residents that reported not having received one.”
The new calendar informed residents of changes to black and green bin collections.
