Forces team up to save money

THREE police forces have officially teamed up in a bid to save money.

The strategic policing alliance between Herts, Beds and Cambs will see the development of joint working.

It will build on the existing Beds and Herts Joint Collaboration Programme which has seen the development of a joint Major Crime Unit, Firearms Support Unit and soon a ICT department will be launched.

Chair of Herts Police Authority Stuart Nagler said: “In the current challenging economic climate, all three forces and police authorities are keen to explore ways in which front-line services can be protected whilst generating financial off-licences.”
