BUBBLY blonde Dannie Aston was over the moon for coming third in the Miss Hertfordshire pageant at Blakemore House near Stevenage on Sunday.
The 20-year-old former student of Tring Park School and Abbots Hill School in Hemel Hempstead, also won the Miss Eco round of the competition by making a prom dress from a white bin liner.
She said: “I was gobsmacked when they called out my name. I couldn’t get the smile off my face.”
The budding musician may not be going to the Miss England finals but she has been picked for the finals of Miss Supranation in London on Monday, June 25.
Jessica Frankish put in a valiant effort in the finals when she took to the stage with the aid of a zimmer frame because she broke several bones in her body when she was hit by a car last December.
The 23-year-old from Redbourn made it to the final 12 of the competition.
Kirstie Heselwood, from Bishops Stortford won Miss Hertfordshire and Alexandra Cane came second.
