Concerns over parking congestion led planning chiefs to delay a decision on proposls to turn garage blocks into homes.

Two planning applications to demolish garages and build homes in Woodhall Farm have been submitted to Dacorum Borough Council.

The first is for garages to the south of 7 Burns Drive where developers want to build three two storey detached homes.

To the south of numbers 71 to 81 Burns Drive, builders want to create four two bedroom flats.

But concerns over parking congestion in the road, which were not allayed by the offer of ‘community’ parking spaces by the applicant, meant both schemes were deferred.

Councillors who form the council’s development control committee said that more time is needed for discussions regarding parking provision and allocation.

Both applications, which had been called in by Councillor Colette Wyatt-Lowe on behalf of residents, are expected to be put before the committee again at a later date.
