Witnesses to a motorway crash which left a woman with serious injuries are being asked to come forward in a police appeal.
Officers are seeking those who may have seen the crash – in which a grey Ford Puma hit the central reservation before flipping over – on the M1 northbound on Friday, December 5.
The incident happened at around 6.50am between junctions 6 and 6A and the driver, a 43 year old woman, suffered serious injuries.
The woman, who is from Middlesex, is still being treated in a London hospital, causing considerable rush hour congestion on surrounding routes.
The road was closed until 10.30am to allow investigations to take place at the scene.
Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact PC Jackie Lister via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101.
