Tring School headteacher Sue Collings wants to revamp its sixth-form centre and sports complex.
She spoke out at the town’s annual meeting in Victoria Hall, Akeman Street, on Monday.
She said: “We have got a group of people together that are now very energised to make sure we can have a whole new sporting complex, not just for our school but for the whole community.
“Tring deserves it.”
The school, which became an academy last year, has 320 students in sixth form classes.
But Mrs Collings said: “We house them in two rooms – not terribly impressive.” She said Tring School is the biggest employer in the town, with 200 staff, and asked for the public’s help to fund her redevelopment plans.
