Parents wondering how to amuse their little ones during the Easter holidays can get them busy in the kitchen as a local cookery school expands into Hemel Hempstead.

How2BoilWater’s new Easter Eggcitement classes will be held at new venue Abbot’s Hill School on Bunkers Lane on April 3.

Keen cooks aged between eight and 15 will be able to get stuck into all things chocolatey, including tasting sessions and creating their own lollipops to take home.

Karen Bretts, founder of the Berkhamsted-based cookery school, said: “It never ceases to amaze me the pleasure I feel when I witness children seeing their own results.

“Cooking gives them a sense of worth, and gets them using their hands in a creative way. It also gets them away from computers and games consoles!”

The course runs from 10am until 3pm, but with the choice of an extended hours option.

The course costs £65 a day, which includes all materials, ingredients and equipment, lunch, protective clothing, a recipe booklet and chef’s hat, plus packaging to transport edible masterpieces home.

Those wanting to try their hand at Italian can go along to the Abbot’s Hill Perfect Pasta class on April 10, available to children aged 10 to 17.
