PARENTS have got their fingers crossed that their playground will be chosen for a funding boost.
Tring mums and dads are nominating the ‘rundown’ play area at Mortimer Hill for £15,000 from Robinson’s Parents For Playground funding scheme.
Play4All campaign group chairman Doris Begg said: “Tring needs a play area you can go as a family to, where there is not just equipment for the big ones, but for the little ones.
“Most children aged under seven cannot get on the slide and cannot climb freely without help.”
She said there are also not many pieces of equipment in the playground.
Play areas in Tring suffered a blow in August last year when £52,000 earmarked for a playground for eight to 13-year-olds was cut to £22,000 when the government’s Playbuilder Scheme was abandoned.
