Cold and frosty weather is expected this weekend so Hertfordshire County Council is reminding everyone to take extra care on the roads.
Terry Douris, Cabinet Member for Highways, said: “After a mild start to the winter, it looks like we’re going to have some wintry weather this weekend with an icy start in the mornings.
“While our gritters will be out as necessary and salt is the best material we have available to treat the roads, please do be aware that road conditions have changed and we all need to be extra careful when we’re out and about.”
On the Herts County Council website, there is information about the authority’s winter service, from driving tips to help keep motorists safe during bad weather to the routes we salt when temperatures are below zero.
During severe weather, information about your the county council’s services is available by following the ‘severe weather’ tab on the front page of the website. Advice on preparing for flooding is also available.
