A good cause is appealing for donations of gifts to bring a smile to the faces of old folks this Christmas.
Age Concern Dacorum is throwing three festive bashes where Christmas dinner will be served up to a total of 350 older people.
But the charity needs presents for Santa to dish out during the celebrations.
Community fundraiser Michelle Law said: “A lot of people don’t get any other chance to get out over Christmas.
“Quite often they sit at home with a meal for one on Christmas Day.
“Everyone really looks forward to these Christmas parties each year. It is just a really special occasion.”
The charity is asking donators to drop off gifts, unwrapped, at its Half Moon Yard base before December 4. The office is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Michelle said: “A simple thing like a wind up torch is so handy for them, or some warm gloves or some toiletries or biscuits or chocolates. Just a simple item will be so welcomed.”
