A Nash Mills ski instructor has made it through to the finals of Miss Hertfordshire.

Charlotte Mellish, 20, of Chambersbury Lane, is one of just 23 contestants to make it to the climax of the countywide competition out of more than 250 entrants. She said: “When they told me, I was ecstatic and could not believe it.”

The former Longdean School student made it through the Hatfield House semi-finals on Sunday.

She will return for the finals on Sunday, April 13, where she will have to catwalk in a full-length ball gown and a dress that she has made herself.

Agency model Charlotte works at Hemel Hempstead’s The Snow Centre in between studying sports therapy at Bristol University.
