A selection of the opportunities available this week through Volunteer Centre Dacorum.
Are you a fan of online auction site eBay? An enthusiast with a knowledge of intermet trading is needed for a home grown charity that supports individuals and families affected by learning disability.
Dacorum Mencap offers a range of exciting and stimulating services and activities that include a regular weekly drop-in, a range of social activities in community venues and an annual holiday.
Their focus is to enable people to build the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
Can you help get the best price for donated items? The money raised will make a real difference to people affected by a learning disability.
This role involves listing items for sale, then wrapping and posting them out.
DACORUM COMMUNITIES FOR LEARNING
This charity offers new learning opportunities and runs affordable courses in IT, languages and the arts that are held in community centres in Hemel Hempstead and Tring.
It is looking for someone with a passion for learning together with the skills and time to become a trustee for the cause.
A new treasurer is required to help oversee the finances of the organisation.
Tasks include bookkeeping, invoicing and making monthly reports to the committee.
The right volunteer should have an understanding of charity finances and be proficient in Excel.
The current treasurer will be around to offer training and advice for the next 12 months.
Another vital role for this established cause is the trustee secretary. A new volunteer is needed who can deal with correspondence and communicate with other organisations including the Charity Commission.
This role will take around two hours of your time each week.
Trustees meet every two months at Warners End Community Centre. If you have good IT skills and a PC at home, this could be the role for you.
