A PRIMARY school deemed inadequate and put on notice to improve is now showing good progress according to Ofsted.

Grove Road Primary School in Tring was visited by the education watchdog in October last year.

The four inspectors, who observed 27 lessons taught by 16 teachers, criticised leadership and management and said there was no clear strategy to better the school, no challenging targets, timescales or criteria to measure success.

An inspector revisited the school on May 10 as part of its ongoing monitoring. In a letter to the headteacher, inspector Michael Sheridan said: “The school is making good progress in addressing the issues for improvement and in raising the pupils’ achievement.”
