MP Mike Penning says he is ‘delighted’ after seeing first hand how successful drinks giant Britvic’s move to Hemel Hempstead has been.
The town’s MP visited Britvic’s head office in Breakspear Park last week to learn about the company’s expansion and view their recently built state of the art laboratories.
Since 2012 Britvic’s employee numbers have doubled at Breakspear Park, which is the base for 25% of the company’s UK employees (450 people) in functions including marketing, finance, procurement, HR and resourcing.
The leading soft drinks company relocated their head office to the town from Chelmsford two years ago to take advantage of the location which the firm says is ‘convenient for access to motorways and Luton and Heathrow airports’.
Mike Penning was accompanied by Britvic’s GB and Ireland HR director, Sue Skinner, who oversaw the move and redesign of the new head office.
He also toured the company’s newly built high-tech labs where new drinks formulas are created and tested.
He said: “I was delighted to visit and to hear that the move to Hemel Hempstead has proved such a great success. It was very interesting to learn about the development of new flavours in the labs.
“Britvic is one of the UK’s success stories and is a great asset for Hemel Hempstead.”
Thanking the MP for his visit, Sue added: “It has been an eventful year here.”
