Nearly time for fundraising hospice hike

THERE’S still time to sign up for an annual hospice fundraiser that takes place on Sunday.

The Chilterns 3 Peaks Challenge will set off from Princes Risborough School. Participants can then choose between a five, nine or 18-mile routes.

The first two take in Whiteleaf Cross and Coombe Hill, and the third goes across Ivinghoe Beacon, too.

Entry to the fundraising walk for the Tring and St Albans-based Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care costs £15 for adults and £7.50 for children at It costs £20 and £10 on the day.

There will be a barbecue for walkers after five miles as well as a treasure hunt for children.

Moira Rennie – husband of the late Iain Rennie, the founder patient of the Tring-based part of the hospice – will join walkers.

Moira, who now lives in Scotland, said: “I am so pleased to be down for this walk as I took part in the first walk two years ago and I love being back in this beautiful part of the world.”
