A PCSO for Kings Langley and Nash Mills is swapping his day job for 11 weeks on the road in an epic motorcycle ride to Beijing.
Ian Martin, 56, has already ridden overland to India and coast to coast in the States, but couldn’t resist this latest challenge, which begins on Friday. He said: “I have always enjoyed travelling. I decided on this 18 months ago, but it is becoming much more real now.”
He is raising money for the Waterside Centre in the village, which provides education for people with learning disabilities.
He said: “It is within my beat and they do tremendous work there, so it will be great to raise money and public awareness for them.”
