People retiring in Hertfordshire have the second-largest pension pots in the UK, according to new research.
But Tring is well below the average for people retiring, in both Hertfordshire and across the UK.
The average pensioner has £87,882 in their pot, according to the firm Portal Financial.
That figure varies widely across the county, with people in Tring having just £29,609. Only Bushey (£17,272) has a lower figure locally.
The UK average is a pension pot of £63,387.
Jamie Smith-Thompson, managing director of Portal Financial, said: “Southern counties have the greatest pensioner affluence as do some of the popular seaside and countryside locations.”
