Pianist Libor joins quartet for concert

IN Berkhamsted Music’s first concert of 2012 one of today’s most successful young string quartets the Anglo Irish Carducci Quartet will play at the town’s Civic Centre accompanied by Libor Novacek on piano.

Based in the UK, the quartet holds residencies at Cardiff University and Dean Close School and is visiting quartet in residence at Trinity Laban in London, Repton School and the Cork School of Music in Ireland.

They are also regulars at London’s Wigmore Hall, perform throughout the UK, and even have their own festival in Highnam, Gloucestershire.

Their accompanist Czech pianist Libor Novacek has gained an international reputation for his interpretations of the works of Brahms and Liszt.

Next week’s programme consists of Haydn: Quartet in G min. (Rider) Op. 74 No.3, Brahms: Seven Fantasies for Piano Op 116 and Dvorak: Piano Quintet in A maj. Op. 81.

Berkhamsted Music presents The Carducci Quartet with Libor Novacek on piano at the Civic Centre, Berkhamsted on Saturday, February 11 at 7.30pm.
