Thieves caused £2,500 worth of damage to a car parked in a quiet street last night.

The attack in Faversham Close, Tring prompted door-to-door inquiries from police after the car, a white limited edition Vauxhall Corsa, had its front registration plate and bonnet stolen as well as one of its windows smashed.

The crooks are thought to have struck between 8.30pm and 10pm yesterday evening, where they cut pipes from the engine and also tried and failed to steal the alloy wheels.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward if they have any information that could help the investigation.
