Police are on the hunt for a group of burglars who smashed their way into a convenience store before making off with about £4,000 worth of cigarettes.

They got into Martin’s in Tring High Street by breaking through the front window and then sped away in the direction of Brook Street in their getaway vehicle.

Police believe there were four offenders – all of whom were men wearing dark clothing, and it is thought that they escaped in a green estate car.

They were caught on CCTV during the raid – but officers are not releasing the images at this stage.

The crime happened at about 1.15am between Thursday night and Friday morning last week.
