Police are now investigating after a man exposed himself in front of children in two separate locations in Berkhamsted.

First, he approached, spoke to and exposed himself to a woman in her 50s and a girl who were walking down Doctor’s Commons Road towards Charles Street.

It happened at about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Giles Cooper said: “The woman walked away from the man and he then went away. The man did not attempt to follow the woman.”

Officers say the man was described as white, aged between 23 and 27, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 11ins tall and of heavy build. He had short, straight strawberry-blonde hair.

The second flashing happened at nearby Butts Meadow Recreation Ground at around 7pm.

Two teenage girls were in the area and were approached by a man who spoke to them and indecently exposed himself.

He didn’t attempt to follow them and walked off onto Kings Road, which runs alongside the park.

The man is described as white, aged around 25 and of stocky build. He had ginger hair. He was wearing a light blue long-sleeved shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

The two flashings are being linked. Anyone with any information about either of them should phone police on 101, quoting crime reference D2/14/463 for the first and D2/14/462 for the second.
