Police sergeant is special guest at annual meet

A TOWN’S police sergeant will be the guest speaker at its 38th annual meeting.

Sergeant Adele Hopkin will talk about policing in the Tring as residents discuss issues in the town on Monday (April 11).

Mayor of Tring Roxanne Ransley will give a brief report on the town council’s activities, while chairman John Allan will give a financial overview.

Accolades will be given to green-fingered residents in the Best Kept Allotment Awards 2010/11.

The Robert Jones Environmental Award, won last year by Dundale School, will also be presented. The award was launched in 2008 by Mr Jones’ widow, in the name of the former Environment Minister.

The Annual Community Award, won last year by Colin Stevens, will also be presented.

Town residents will then have a chance to suggest town council action which could benefit the town.

The meeting at Victoria Hall, on Akeman Street, starts at 8pm.
