Electrical faults were the cause of two Hemel Hempstead fire call-outs yesterday.
Crews from the Queensway fire station raced to a blaze in a forklift truck at an industrial unit on Maylands Avenue shortly before 7am on Sunday morning, but the flames were already out an arrival.
No people were involved in the incident, and firefighters stayed to ensure the electrics system was made safe.
Just before midnight the teams were also called to deal with a fire at an illuminated bollard on Longlands, which had also started accidentally and was smoking.
The power to the bollard was isolated and a new light was fitted once the flames were put out.
