Quartet plan to play a policeman

Top musicians from the distinguished London Mozart Players will be performing in Kings Langley on Friday evening.

The concert at Rudolf Steiner School Langley HIll, which starts at 7.30pm, will be a showcase for string quarter from the capital’s oldest chamber orchestra.

The London Mozart Players have an impressive national and international reputation, and on the programme for Friday’s recital is Haydn’s much-loved work known as ‘The Policeman’ followed by selections from Beethoven and Borodin.

The Russian composer’s second quartet, full of soaring tunes, is described as an ideal way to spend a cold winter’s evening, warming up with some heart-warming music!

Admission is £10 for adults with £8 concessions, and children under 16 get in free.

There are two performances, at 3pm and 8pm, of a selection of carols and other songs picked out and prepared by musical director Delia Meehan. A spokesman said: “There is something quite magical about hearing this music soar up into the atmosphere of St Paul’s Church. The concert will include some well known carols for the audience to enjoy singing with the choir.”
