THE winner of a photographic competition held to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has been announced.
Stay-at-home mum of two Lucy Richards used the ingredients from a traditional Sunday roast to create a portrait of Her Majesty, right.
The 40-year-old’s winning entry beat more than 30 other photographs to be awarded first place in the contest run by Dacourm Borough Council.
She bagged herself a camera provided by sponsors of the competition Kodak.
Gill Barber, the council’s 2012 officer who came up with the competition, said: “The quality of the photos were amazing, people had really thought about the subject matter and we had images ranging from cakes to street parties.”
Gillian Beard from Kodak judged all of the entries. She said: “Kodak is very proud to have sponsored this amazing competition.
“The winning image was a fantastic example of being British, roast dinners, the Queen and great photography.
“Well done Lucy and well done to everyone who entered the competition.”
Lucy, who lives in St Albans, took the picture while at her friend’s Jubilee party in Queensway, Hemel Hempstead.
