A LOYAL worker has retired a month short of 30 years at a charity shop.
Shirley Price has dedicated a Tuesday morning every week to the Save The Children shop on High Street, Tring.
She said: “I have enjoyed it. It is nice to meet the public and to do something for the children.
“You meet all sorts of people and most of them are very nice. Tring is a nice place to work.
“I think over the years, they have given quite generously, particularly when there have been any bad experiences abroad.”
Mrs Price, a grandmother-of-four, said she enjoyed it when eight-year-old Millie and Izzy, five, from Tring, popped into the shop to see her. The Grove Road resident is also grandmother of Max, 12, and Beth, eight, who live in London.
She urged people to continue giving to the charity and said: “It is important. There are a lot of children abroad living in particularly bad circumstances and you feel it is least you can do to help them. We are lucky in England.”
